About Tatonka & Chef
Produce inspired cuisine using fresh local ingredients and combine them in a unique way. This innovation leads to a large tapas size selection of appetizers, where sharing is the idea to allow each diner to sample a true firework of flavors.
Daily hand picked fresh local seafood , tender meats and creative desserts complete a menu packed with bold flavors.
Chef Harold Schwarz showcases his Globetrotter Cuisine inspired by his vast culinary experiences from working stints in Germany, France, Switzerland, California, Colorado and Hawaii as well as his extensive travels abroad. Tatonka’s unique space features an alfresco, gastronomic dining experience under a vine covered, flourishing courtyard or Native American canvas ceiling. The ambiance is enhanced with an open kitchen, allowing diners to relax and watch the chefs at work whilst indulging in handcrafted cocktails, chilled local brews or a global wine selection.
Tatonka seats a maximum of 50 diners, half indoors, half outdoors and can be separated for small private functions with custom designed menus.

A wonderful return after eight years Eight years later, and they still knew us We first ate at Tatonka eight years ago. We went back tonight half expecting the gap to show. We were met remembering us. Not the face alone. He remembered that we arrive early, and where we always sat. Eight years. We have sat through dinners in cities where the restaurant forgets you between courses, so this is amazing. The kitchen has not slipped. Harold called it globetrotter cuisine and that is still what it is, Thai at the base with everything he collected on the way, arrived at through a tapas format that makes you order more than you meant to. The restaurant is as we remembered it, vines overhead, the open kitchen in plain view, nothing over-designed. Harold Schwarz opened this restaurant in 1996 and sadly passed away. His wife, Khun Yen, has kept it going with the team he built, and what impressed us most is how little has been lost. The standard remain high. Half the tables around us were regulars being greeted by name, which tells you more than any review can. We are glad to be back, and it will not be another eight years.![Tripadvisor]()

Charming Thai fusion restaurant Lovely food which is Thai/Asian with European twists. The curried cauliflower on black rice cake is a highlight, as is the beetroot and feta cone. A sad story: the founding chef, a European, has recently died. His Thai widow continuing bravely with his (amazing) recipes. We met her, she is lovely. What a surprise Charming restaurant outside of the La Laguna. Well visited and cheerful interior, without being a cliche. Happy, helpful and kindly service. The dishes are very special, a mix of new and traditional cuisines across the globe (not excursively Thai), like the cornets. We first found it 2 years ago and returned this week with high expectations- and the place did not disappoint. The menu is simply outstanding and the food they serve is both unique and exceptional. We focused mainly on the selection of Tapas/ Lite Bites . We chose Lamb Gai- Unbelievable, Duck Pancakes- very good, Saigon Beef- melts in the mouth and flavoursome, Pomelo Prawns- succulent and tasty. Service was fantastic and friendlly. Fantastic food We had such a lovely meal here. The restaurant was really nice inside and very busy. The staff are great, even though it was busy the food came out at the same time. The food was just excellent, the best we had on our trip to Phuket. We had tapas and then main courses. Totally recommend.

Die Fotos sprechen hier eigentlich für sich. 😊🇹🇭 Besonders positiv fanden wir auch, wie kinderfreundlich und flexibel das Restaurant ist. Unser Sohn hatte einen Sonderwunsch und wollte gerne Fisch mit ganz normalen Spaghetti. Das wurde ihm ohne Probleme genau so zubereitet – und er war sehr zufrieden. Auch der Service war ausgesprochen freundlich und aufmerksam. Wer hochwertige thailändische Küche, schönes Ambiente und einen sehr guten, familienfreundlichen Service sucht, ist hier genau richtig.
